I believe that this is already possible by using a negative number on the padding menu

Fábio Fernandes: I don't think it's quite the same, or at least, it's not supposed to be 😅 The left side of the padding sliders will adjust the left side of each clip's padding, but the cut will still happen across the audio + video at the same time. This J/L cut feature would make it so that the audio keeps playing while the next video segment starts, or the video keeps playing while the audio from the next segment plays.

Being able to set negative padding numbers is a bug actually! But it seems to behave well so maybe I should leave it alone!
