Perhaps a function similar to "noise profile". Not sure if feasible but you could select a "um" and program will look for similar stuff. Also helpful for removing unwanted noise or keypresses. Probably this feature should be added as optional and not blended in the automatic silence removal.

Mario: Yeah that would be cool. I don't know if one or two selections would be enough to identify the other occurrences... my hunch is that something like Audacity's noise profile has a much easier job to do with detecting the noise floor.

It'll be hard to do this, with regional accents, but perhaps if short words like um and uh could be separately flagged in pink for manual selection.

Waynne Smith: Yep, agreed. This is not the easiest problem to solve 😅 I think it probably would not automatically remove them, or at least would have an option to flag them for review instead of automatically removing them.
